Rules + Guidelines

Register using your character's first and last name in all lowercase letters. As we're doing things in western style on site, we ask that the first name come first and the surname come second. If for any reason you need a name change, you can change your name yourself in your profile.

Make sure to read through everything in the Handbook section of the board so that everyone is on the same page. Please do this before starting your app.

Avatars are 150 x 150 and must be your character's canon spirit. Your mini-profile will require a 270 x 400 image of your character's FC. We DO NOT have signatures on SPIRIT.

The age limit for characters is a cutoff of 15 years of age. In typical magical girl stories it is acknowledged that many protagonists begin their journey younger. While this is allowed within reason, all on-site characters must heed by this rule.

Make sure your face claim is reasonably famous. This means if someone were to do a Google search of the face, they would find them in a band or in other published media. Staff reserve the right to say whether or not your face claim is acceptable or not; if you have further questions, feel free to contact staff.

Your first three characters can be made without posting requirements. AFTER YOUR 3RD CHARACTER, you must have at least ONE active thread with each of your characters in order to make a new character. In this case, an active thread is a thread where you and someone else have both posted once.

Original characters ARE NOT ALLOWED on SPIRIT, although you are free to make the canon character your own as long as you can justify the connection. We accept all fandom media such as literature, animation, video games and original stage productions.

Gender-bending of characters is allowed. Make sure that when you gender-swap a character, they are still believably written and connected to their canon self through personality and history.

Limit yourself to ONE character per fandom. Staff do understand that some fandoms, like Marvel/DC Comics or Fire Emblem, have thousands of characters across multiple universes. In order to accommodate this, if you would like to make two characters from a large fandom, please make sure that their stories do not overlap (ex; playing Chrom and Gray as there are no story overlaps). If you have any questions about what will be allowed under this rule, don't hesitate to ask.

Keep everything on-site PG-14 appropriate. Tag any triggering concepts with a [TW] in the topic title (be it apps or threads) so that anyone reading will be forewarned. Be mindful of the Proboards TOS and stay within it in terms of triggering concepts.

Remember to be kind and respectful to everyone within the chat, be it guests, members or staff. SPIRIT was created to be an inclusive and friendly community so please work at ensuring it stays so.

No advertising is permitted within the chat. Post all ads in the specified board and nowhere else.
